If you can use sendmail's FEATURE(compat_check) then you can drop incoming messages from this user to the list without altering any majordomo configuration. You can even decide whether the user gets notified of the rejection or not. Just edit /etc/mail/access:

Compat:bad @
user .
com<@>list @
good .
com ERROR:"550 You cannot email this list"

or

Compat:bad @
user .
com<@>list @
good .
com DISCARD
